(ASES/ELO-P) After-School Program

King-Chavez Neighborhood of Schools is committed to providing our students with a safe and educationally enriching environment during non-school hours. Our After School Education and Safety Program (ASES) and Expanded Learning Opportunities Program (ELO-P) combine as one single comprehensive program that provides additional academic and enrichment opportunities for our students. Additionally, they provide social experiences where students build positive relationships and engage with one another in a safe envirnment. There is NO cost for students to participate. The programs are funded by state grants and are available to all students.

For ASES Programs: It is the intent of the Education Code that participating students will attend this program regularly for the full program time (some exclusions apply; appropriate release form(s) must be completed and on file). First priority shall go to pupils who are identified by the program as homeless youth, as defined by the federal McKinney-Vento homeless Assistance Act (42 U.S.C. Sec. 11434a), at the time that they apply for enrollment or at any time during the school year, and to pupils who are identified by the program as being in foster care.  Second priority for enrollment will be given to students who can attend the full day every day.
